They had great ambitions when the Cleveland Cavaliers drafted Dion Waiters, who was fourth in the 2012 draft. With LeBron James leaving and Kyrie Irving growing into stardom, they thought the Dion Waiters would be the perfect solution to their needs.
According to The Athletic’s Bill Oram, Joe Vardon, and Jason Lloyd, they also believe they will work well with LeBron James when Dion Waiters finally returns to the Cavaliers.

“The Cavaliers chose the Waiters in 2012 and Lebron eventually returned to the team from Miami. Sources said they would effectively finish the Waiters pre-season training and bring him in. The team executives at the time thought the Waiters would be a perfect fit for the bench when Lebron returned. “
Despite Dion Waiters’ first optimism and scoring skills, he only lasted about 33 games in Lebron before being traded to OKC Thunder. He never returned to the Cavaliers and couldn’t live up to his reputation as a top lottery.

His average career is only 9.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1 assist per game and a low shot rate of 38.5%. During his last stint in Miami, he made headlines for his sticky overdose, and his dysfunctional behavior was the cause of his final exit.
