GridGamesID – The increasing popularity of esports has made many parties want to participate in enlivening this sector.

One of them is the parent of soccer in Indonesia or PSSI.

Quotes BolaSport.com, Deputy Secretary General of PSSI, Marshal Masita, admitted that he was preparing an esports event for soccer-themed games.

This was conveyed by Marshal when talking about the tight schedule of the Indonesian football team in the second half of 2021.

Among them are a number of test matches for the U-19 national team and also the U-16 Asian Cup qualifiers, where Indonesia is the host.

Not only that, PSSI will also hold a Football Expo 2021 on August 21-25.

At the event, one of the interesting agendas was the eSports Competition.

The plan, the game that will be contested is FIFA19 and will be the start of Liga 1 eSports in 2021.

Marshal himself stated that PSSI had dreams of holding an eSports League 1.

The competition held at the Football Expo 2021 will later become the forerunner.

For additional information, currently there are at least two Indonesian football clubs that have formed an eSports team.

They are Bali United with Island of Gods or IOG, which compete in the eSports games Free Fire, PUBG and Mobile Legends.

Then PSS Sleman with Elang Jawa eSports (EJS) which was officially formed last June.

Even though it is still small, Marshal admits that he is optimistic that in the future more clubs will form their respective esports teams.
