LINE Developer Day, November 20-21, 2021 in Tokyo, Japan.
GridGames.ID – LINE Corporation’s annual event, LINE Developer Day, is back on November 20-21 2021 in Tokyo, Japan.
LINE Developer Day which was held for two consecutive days was attended by more than 3000 participants from the developer community, school and university students, invited guests, etc.
There are 68 play talk, 42 short tracks, 9 poster sessions, 6 hands-on sessions and 19 booths presented on this year’s LINE Developer Day.

On this occasion, Euivin Park, Chief Technology Officer of LINE, was present as a speaker at the Keynote session which brought the main theme “LIFE with LINE” which focused on introducing the concepts of “Connect with LINE Platform” and “Natural Experience with AI Technology.”
First, introducing LIFE with LINE which focuses on four areas, namely Fintech, Commerce, O2O, and Contents & Entertainment.
In the field of Financial Technology (Fintech), approximately 8 services have been available this year, one of which is BITMAX in Japan.
One of LINE’s financial services, LINE Pay, which is present in Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, and Korea, has approximately 50 million users worldwide, with the highest number of users being in Japan with 37 million users.

LIFE with LINE
The concept of “Connect with LINE Platform” was also introduced, one of which discussed the presence of the LINE Mini App, a new service platform developed within the LINE application that allows companies or businesses to create their own pages within the LINE application.
In addition, this latest concept can also list their services such as restaurant menus and prices, reservations, coupons, or create subscription cards.
The LINE Mini App allows companies to connect with their customers more closely.
In addition, this session also introduced the development of artificial intelligence (AI) on the LINE platform through LINE Brain.

Artificial intelligence on the LINE platform covers 8 main areas, namely Speech, NLU, Voice, Data, Video, Face, OCR, and Vision, all of which present various technologies that make the lives of loyal LINE users in various countries easier.
LINE’s Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology, for example, has been embedded in three services, such as LINE SPLITBILL, LINE Music, and LINE CONOMI.
Meanwhile, artificial intelligence technology in the Voice area is already included in Clova, Papago, Gatebox, and LINE CARNAVI products.

In the second half of the Keynote session, Shinichiro Isago, LINE BRAIN Dept Lead, further explained about LINE Brain which combines facial recognition technology through Face Sign, AI OCR Accuracy, NLP (Natural Language Processing), LINE AiCall to create an AI automatic reply system for telephone.
By bringing AI technology to a number of its services, LINE aims to make everyday life easier for users who use these services.
